Nexus Tablet 7 has finally been reveled by Google. For awhile there has been a buzz about the “tablet” google was going to be springing on the market during this flurry of new tablet crazes. The seven in the Nexus Tablet 7 might make you wander where are versions 1 through 6? The seven is for the size of the Nexus Tablet. It is actually a cute 7-inch tablet!
The Nexus Tablet 7 is geared-up to go head-to-head with the market leaders of Kindle Fire and Apple iPad. Google believes they have a winner given their new tablet has 1280 x 80 display, and Nvidia Tegra 3 chipset with a quad-core CPU, and a 12-core GPU, a feature that will make it well suited for calculation-intensive applications like games and video.
Nexus Tablet 7 is running Jelly Bean (which we are evaluating right now and coming out with a post on Jelly Bean in a day or two). Google has included a front facing camera, WiFi (of course), Bluetooth and NFC connectivity. Specs give the Nexus Tablet 9 hours of video playback ( something we might have to experience to believe) and Chrome as the default browser. The Nexus Tablet 7 is going to be easy to manage weighting in at only ¾’s a pound!
The Nexus Tablet 7 is slated to ship in July with a sticker price of $199.00 noticeable cheaper than the iPad!
Apple’s iPad has such a lead on the market and the Fire has done pretty well in its sub-market we are going to be watching for Google to hit it big in any or hopefully all the following categories for the Nexus Tablet 7 to be a big hit:
- Display: the iPad has such a killer display that the Nexus better be kickin!
- Exclusive “special features” everyone wants and only available for with the Nexus 7
- Compatibility with 3rd party content ( given that this is a MUST!)
- We vote for expandable storage: STOP making us delete apps we don’t use As Much As Others!
- Priced Right à we believe $199 is a great price.
- Now that the word is out launch the Nexus Tablet 7 like today!
