Halo for Xbox is a multi-billion science fiction video game franchise by Bungie. Halo is managed by 343 Industries ad owned by Microsoft Studios. The first title in the series is the Xbox version of Halo: Combat Evolved was released on November 15, 2001. The game was first planned to be released for Mac OS ad Microsoft Windows flat forms until Microsoft’s purchase of Bungie in 2000 led to the game becoming an Xbox launch title and flat form exclusive. Halo for Xbox: Combat Evolved introduced much game play and plot themes the same to the whole trilogy. Halo for Xbox have been praised as being the first person shooters on a video game comfort and is regard as the Microsoft Xbox’s “killer app”.
Halo for Xbox centers on the experiences of Master Chief John-117, a cybernetically enhanced human super-soldier, together with his artificial intelligence companion, Contana. This game focused on an interstellar war between humanity and a theocratic alliance of aliens called the Covenant. The Covenant led by religious leaders known as the Prophets. They worship an ancient civilizations know as the Forerunners, who die in combat with the parasitic Flood. Players fight various aliens on foot and in vehicles to complete objectives while trying to discover secrets of the eponymous Halo. One idea instituted in Halo for Xbox: Combat Evolved, the player’s health is measured in both hit points and a continually recharging energy shield.
Because of the success of Halo for Xbox: Combat Evolved, they have released sequels. Halo Trilogy, Halo for Xbox: Combat Evolved and the sequels, Halo 2 and Halo 3 have sold over 4o billion copies worldwide and have grossed almost $3 billion. Halo for Xbox version became a successful worldwide video game.
